My practice has evolved from an interest in the visual remains and material qualities revealed in the extraction and use of natural resources in North Wales, through an investigation of the material qualities and physicality of matter.
I am interested in transformations, caused by natural and chemical processes, My paintings reflect the natural processes of rusting, decay, oxidation, calcification and burning and emphasise the physical texture and materiality of the art object. Using contrasts in texture, light shade and colour I suggests the continuous natural change of matter taking place over time.
